Forward Thinking: Opening Doors to Wisconsin Higher Education

A recent article on madison.com highlighted the UW system’s revamped website designed to streamline and improve access to admissions and academic program information, with the ultimate goal of increasing student enrollments, including those from international backgrounds. This news caught our attention at US University Pathways (USUP). We, too, have made progress in promoting Wisconsin education - most recently through collaborative efforts with our outstanding partner colleges and universities to attract future Forward International Academy (FIA) graduates to Wisconsin for college. Similar to the UW system’s exciting new initiative, USUP and FIA are committed to simplifying the process for international high school students to explore and engage with their academic futures through conditional admission agreements with our participating partner colleges and universities. Conditional admission typically means that students must maintain a satisfactory GPA through their senior year and adhere to FIA’s graduation requirements that align with the academic expectations of our higher education partners. Additionally, holding a diploma from FIA qualifies students for generous scholarships and can potentially lead to waivers for English language proficiency tests and third-party credential evaluations. Each of these represents a significant benefit for international students contemplating a new educational and cultural endeavor. We are grateful to our partner institutions for their collaboration and support.

Together, these efforts demonstrate our shared commitment to providing the international student community with access to high-quality secondary and post-secondary education that our state offers, underscoring the important role of strategic outreach and engagement in realizing this goal.

Go, Wisconsin!
