Forward Progress: FIA Added to DPI Directory
Last week, we learned that Forward International Academy (FIA) is now officially recognized as a new private school in Wisconsin and will appear in the Department of Public Instruction’s School Directory for the upcoming 2024-25 school year and beyond. This distinction is important for everyone, particularly international partners and families seeking assurance that their school upholds an established organizational standard conducive to effective teaching, learning, and evaluation.
To help clarify the difference between a school and a program, the DPI defines a school as having:
An assigned administrator responsible for personnel matters
A unique identification code assigned by the DPI (FIA’s code is 1959)
Direct supervision over the primary educational services received by students
One or more teachers to provide instruction
The application process also stipulated that schools provide at least 875 hours of instruction per year delivered in a sequentially progressive curriculum. Previous Forward newsletter posts highlighted the characteristics of FIA’s curriculum and can be reviewed at the following links:

We will continue to keep our partners, friends, families, and all of our stakeholders apprised of these and other important milestones that illustrate FIA’s commitment to a high standard of practice and accountability.
Onward. Upward. Forward!
